Mrs Laura Currivan

Laura Currivan is the Graduate Diploma in Emergency Nursing (Children’s) Coordinator at Children’s Health Ireland in partnership with the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Sciences, University College Dublin.

Laura is responsible for coordinating and enhancing the quality of education and clinical placements delivered in the Graduate Diploma and ensures a standardised approach to education is maintained nationally across the Paediatric Emergency settings to support quality care for all closer to home. Through her nursing career, she has gained a wealth of knowledge within acute care settings including Paediatric Intensive Care and Cardiac Intensive Care nursing and has obtained specialist knowledge and skills in these areas while working in Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.

Laura received specialist training and obtained invaluable experience in PEM while working in the Paediatric Emergency Department in King’s College Hospital, London.

Prior to taking up her current position, Laura was the Clinical Nurse Education Facilitator in the Emergency Department at CHI at Temple Street for four years. Through this experience, she is in an excellent position to provide clinical support to Graduate Diploma students to ensure they develop the required knowledge and skills to provide the highest quality emergency care to children and their families.
